In November 2019, all national certifications for fire curtains, fire sliding doors, and fire shutters were withdrawn with immediate effect. This included certifications from organizations such as Sintef, Kiwa, Nemko, and also certifications based on standards like BS (British Standard), A/B class, BBR references, etc.

In the fall of 2022, the Norwegian Directorate for Building Quality (DIBK) released guidelines indicating that fire products such as fire curtains, fire sliding doors, and fire shutters should be CE-marked according to the standard NS-EN 16034:2014. Performance testing should also be conducted in accordance with NS-EN 13241:2003+A2:2016.

According to DIBK’s regulations on documentation of construction products (DOK), which also apply to fire curtains, fire sliding doors, and fire shutters, the following documentation is required:
• CE certificate EN 16034
• Declaration of Performance (DOP) in Scandinavian languages
• Installation instructions in Scandinavian languages
